APPLICATION PROCESS
-
Yes, each child needs a separate application. However, we recommend that applications for children who share one or more guardians be done within the same SchoolMint account.
-
No, proof of Boston residency is not required at the time of application. However, as a requirement from the Department of Education, we must give lottery preference to residents of Boston, and all applicants who receive an offer of admission must submit a proof of address document in order to officially receive the seat.
-
The department of elementary and secondary education describes sibling preference in MA charter schools as, "Applicants who have a common parent, either biologically or legally through adoption."
Once one of the children attends their first day at Match and documentation is provided proving that the children are biological or legal siblings, then the sibling on the waitlist will receive sibling preference, which will likely move them closer to the top of the waitlist for their current grade. However, that does not mean that the sibling will automatically be admitted, as other siblings are also at the top of each waitlist, and siblings are only admitted if a spot is available in that grade.

Match students in grades K1-5 who live in Boston at least 1 mile from the school building qualify to receive a Boston Public Schools (BPS) yellow-bus assignment. All Match Middle School students in grade 6 who live in Boston at least 1.5 miles away from our school will receive a bus assignment. All students in grades 7-12, regardless of where they live in relation to their school, will receive a free MBTA pass to take public transportation to and from school.
If your child is accepted after the start of the school year, it takes about two weeks for the school bus transportation to start.

Yes, Match serves all students. We value the unique contributions that diverse learners bring to our community, and we want to empower all students to succeed! Match has exceptional, dedicated Special Education and Language Acquisition teams. We encourage families of students with an IEP or 504 plan to submit this information with the child’s previous school records during the registration process in order for Match’s student support team to follow up and plan for a successful transition.
